Mark Johnnie Appointed to Board Chairman of Carolinas AGC

WILMINGTON, NC –  ۽ֱ congratulates , senior vice president of Civils operations in the Southeast, for his recent appointment to Board Chairman of the  (CAGC). As 2023 CAGC Board Chairman, Mark will lead and support 14 CAGC board members and work with CAGC CEO and President, Dave Simpson, to provide guidance and direction for the organization as it serves the construction industry in the Carolinas.

“I’m honored by this appointment and the trust that my fellow construction leaders have in me to lead the CAGC board in 2023,” Mark said. “Together, we’ll work to support contractors across the industry and accomplish shared goals for a safe, innovative, and inclusive construction environment.”

Mark has been serving CAGC since 2007 and in several capacities, including membership on the CAGC/NCDOT Structure Committee (2007-2014), the CAGC Joint Committee 2014-2022), as co-chair and chair of the CAGC Heavy Highway Division (2014-2015), as Director at Large of the 2018 CAGC Board of Directors and as Treasurer (2020-2021) and Vice Chair (2019 and 2022) of the CAGC Executive Board of Directors.

A ۽ֱ teammate since 1998, Mark has managed the company’s notable civil projects including the San Mateo Bridge Widening, Smith Creek Parkway, Surf City Bridge Replacement, U.S. 70 Havelock Bypass, Maysville Bypass, and the Northeast Water Purification Plant. Over the years, his experience and dedication to his work have earned him a strong local reputation and proven ۽ֱ’s civil construction capability to clients.

Mark graduated from Oregon State University and holds two bachelor of science degrees in construction engineering management and business administration.
