蜜桔直播 Breaks Ground on In-Kind Construction Services for Atlanta Mission鈥檚 Restoration House Homeless Shelter
July 16, 2020
ATLANTA, GA鈥 蜜桔直播 has started demolition and construction activities for the Restoration House, the first low-barrier day shelter designed to serve Atlanta-area women and children battling homelessness. Construction services for the new shelter located at the current Ethel Street facility, The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children (ADS), will be funded by donations and in-kind construction work to build a new shelter that will provide day services for more than 4,500 individuals in need.
The Restoration House will be a 46,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility that will include innovative space and services designed specifically for Metro Atlanta women and children. The new facility enables the Atlanta Mission to enhance the day and overnight shelter services by 20 percent and create more than 100 beds for clients.
As construction manager at-risk, 蜜桔直播 manages the in-kind construction work of subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers and many other entities who discount their fees donate materials, and offer pro bono labor for Atlanta Mission鈥檚 new day shelter. The collaboration between 蜜桔直播 and its partners allows the project to procure a substantial amount of in-kind services and materials to support the construction of the Restoration House shelter.
鈥淲e are so grateful for our partnership with 蜜桔直播 on another project for the Atlanta Mission,鈥 said Jim Reese, Atlanta Mission president, and chief executive officer. 鈥溍劢壑辈モ檚 work has helped us to enhance our faith-based programming to help restore individuals and families overcoming homelessness. The new Restoration House day shelter will continue these services for women and children of Atlanta and we are proud to work with 蜜桔直播 as we unite our community to end homelessness one friend at a time.鈥
蜜桔直播鈥檚 involvement with the Atlanta Mission spans more than 10 years. The company volunteers their time by preparing meals and raising money for shelter clients during holidays and supporting their operations and maintenance needs at the organization鈥檚 various facilities. 蜜桔直播 recently completed in-kind construction services at My Sister鈥檚 House, Atlanta Mission鈥檚 264-bed facility that offers overnight shelter and residential discipleship programs for homeless women, as well as for women with children, where teammates updated rooms, helped with carpentry and supported the facility鈥檚 maintenance needs.
鈥溍劢壑辈 is thrilled at the opportunity to continue our support of an amazing cause that is important to our business, our employees and our community,鈥 said Michael Macon, senior vice president in Atlanta. 鈥淭he Restoration House will be a premier facility for the Atlanta Mission to continue their work in providing vital services to Metro Atlanta鈥檚 largest homeless population. It is a part of our culture to give back to the communities where we do business and to work with likeminded partners who also want to make a mark in the heart of Atlanta. We are proud to work with the Atlanta Mission and our construction partners in making a positive difference towards the fight against homelessness in our community.鈥
Construction will continue until spring 2021 for the Atlanta Mission鈥檚 new Restoration House shelter. The new day shelter will open on Ethel Street and provide enhanced day services and overnight shelter for women and children in Atlanta.
